The night before the holiday

For us holidays always start the night before, rather than having pots and pans to wash and dry, we go out for a meal.

As we were going to the US, we started getting into the spirit by eating at a faux American Diner called Ruby Tuesday

This is located in the centre of Cardiff

in the St, David's Centre.

We caught the 132 down to Cardiff and got there at 5.15 p.m.

Drew opted for Chicken strips with a Thai sauce and I went for Fire Wings with a blue cheese dip.

For mains I had a rack of Memphis Dry Rubbed ribs, which were really tasty while Drew had a 'classic' Bacon Cheese Burger, which was really juicy.

Drew finished off, in preparation for where we will be at the same time tomorrow with a New York Cheesecake.

Having a pretend American dinner before going to the real thing might seem odd - I guess that is just how we are :-)

We caught the Bus back and got to be early, for a good night's sleep. Though this was not helped by the Gramercy Tavern ringing at 10.20 to check that the table we had booked for Sunday was still needed. Still good to know they know we are coming :-)
